Problems Caused By Insomnia Sleep Disorder

Insomnia sleep disorder can interfere with your ability to think well. It can cause memory problems and poor work performance. You may get irritable. People with insomnia sleep disorder are more likely to get injured at work or at home, and are more likely to get in a car accident.

Insomnia sleep disorder affects your quality of life in every area. You feel lousy, you have trouble getting your work done well and your relationships suffer. You may get hurt or get sick because of lack of sleep. It is difficult to enjoy life when you are sleep deprived.

When Should You Worry?

Insomnia sleep disorder is classified as transient, acute or chronic. Transient insomnia lasts a few days or weeks, and is nothing to be concerned about.

Acute insomnia lasts a couple of weeks to a couple of months. You probably don’t need to worry about it unless it is affecting your ability to function. If your work and relationships aren’t suffering, you can wait and see if the problem will correct itself.

Sleep difficulties that go on for more than a couple of months are classified as chronic insomnia sleep disorder. If sleeplessness lasts more than a couple of months, or if it is causing problems during your waking hours, it’s time to take action.

The place to begin is with a visit to the doctor. There is almost always some other problem causing the insomnia sleep disorder. It’s important to find the cause and to treat your insomnia before it disrupts your life any more than it already has.
